Dr. Jennifer Mitchell holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Georgia State University, a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University, and a doctoral degree from The University of Georgia. Her doctoral research focused on the impact of race and gender on black mothers matriculating at predominantly white institutions. She has 15 years of experience working in mental health and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), with a decade dedicated to higher education.
Dr. Mitchell served for eight years in the field of Disability Services at Florida State University as the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Accessibility Services. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Office of Diversity and Community Partnerships at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, South Georgia campus, where she works to advance DEI in Medical Education.
Dr. Mitchell's innovative approach to DEI leverages her expertise in disability and higher education to create tailored strategies that promote diversity and inclusion while driving organizational growth and success. Committed to her mission of creating a more inclusive future, she continues to empower organizations with the knowledge and tools needed to foster diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
