Deja Tharpe

Wellstar GME Family Medicine

Deja Tharpe is a Behavioral Health Specialist at Wellstar Hospital in the Family Medicine clinic. She procured her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University School of Medicine in July 2024, following her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Mercer University in 2022. Deja’s career includes experience in primary pediatric care and working in the state government sector under the tutelage of the Inspector General of Georgia's Department of Community Health. In this role, she focused on addressing healthcare access and reducing disparities among vulnerable and underserved populations. Additionally, Deja is an alumna of the Foundation for the Advancements of Human Systems, a government-sponsored fellowship where she was trained to provide culturally competent mental health and substance abuse services to racial and ethnic minority groups. Deja is deeply passionate about supporting the growing need for affordable and effective mental health care, and she continues to bring hope and insight to her community through her work.
